The Village of Franklin Park has been successful in their request to have the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) provide an important new traffic improvement for our community!

• This project will include creation of a left hand turn lane and a traffic signal with a turn arrow off of eastbound Robinson Road, going onto River Road and off of northbound River Road, onto westbound Robinson Road.

• IDOT has initiated the Engineering Phase to begin the project which will bring traffic relief to over 200 homes and dozens of businesses in our Village.

• Installation of a traffic signal with a left hand turn arrow will provide easy access for our residents in and out of their neighborhood and will create added traffic safety benefits.

• IDOT will widen traffic lanes along River Road to accommodate uninterrupted traffic flow through this area.

• This important project is paid for entirely with State funds - with NO ADDITIONAL COST to LOCAL TAXPAYERS -- and is another example of how our partnerships with our state and federal agencies have paid dividends to our community!

• This Village championed improvement project, with the State of Illinois, is in progress and is slated to be completed in the near future.
