Andy has lived in the Franklin Park area for the last twenty nine years and believes that it
is critical to give back to the community that instilled in him the values he holds dear to his
heart. Andy is running for reelection as a Village Trustee because he wants to continue his
leadership role in creating solutions to the issues facing our residents.
Andy will continue to work to revitalize our business corridors and attract new businesses
to our Village because it lessens the tax burden on our residents. He will continue to work with
Mayor Pedersen by promoting Franklin Park’s superior locational advantages including access
to O’Hare Airport which attracts new businesses and investment to our community. Andy, like
Mayor Pedersen, continues to be an advocate for the expansion of the new Elgin-O’Hare West
bypass and the ring roads that will solidify Franklin Park as a gateway to markets and
opportunities. He wants Franklin Park to fulfill its promise and be a true international business
destination.
Andy, like many of our residents, is still frustrated with the remaining parts of our antiquated
infrastructure and the flooding that sometimes occurs in our community as a result. As a Trustee,
Andy has and will work with the Board to continue finding funding opportunities to provide
additional sewer capacity upgrades and other improvements to end flooding.
Andy has a Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law, Saint Paul, Minnesota and has
practiced law for eight years. He is currently working for himself having started his own law
practice in 2013. He previously worked at Villalobos and Associates who specialize in mediation,
international trade, and criminal defense. Also as the Assistant Director for International Trade
Compliance at Zebra Technologies Corporation.
Andy is a graduate from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and
Government and was awarded a Master of Arts in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois
University in 2012.
Andy is a graduate of Mannheim Middle School and West Leyden High School. He met his wife, Laurie,
while both were attending West Leyden. Andy and Laurie are proud parents of two daughters, Adelen
and Magdalena. They have chosen to raise their daughters in the community where they met and, as
Village Trustee, he has continued to serve as an advocate for educational and recreational programs
that give our children the best opportunities for their future. He looks forward to continuing to
lead the fight to revitalize our community.
